I seldom use coated heads, prefer textured heads for snares so have limited experience It all depends on the drum, but i'm confident the black suedes would work on. Remo has always been a big dog in the area of drum heads and has a bit of a following for their world percussion instruments

Their djembes in particular are very popular. I have remo black suede emps on my tamaha stage customs and they are the best for these How are the aquarian performance ii power dot drumheads

I've always played the remo pinstripes and really like them
I like the look of the aquarians as they are a bit more. Anyone have any experience comparing remo coated with the regular or white suede They sound pretty similar in the videos i looked up, but i'm curious is they differ much in. To my knowledge, permatone heads are actually remo ambassador heads
Remo just stamps the permatone logo on them If i'm mistaken, i hope others will chime in I play hard most of the time, so i need remo coated emperor snare batter heads And for a fatter snare sound on some occasions i often use a 14 remo pinstripe batter head.

I’ve noticed that the remo ps 4 is about $15 usd cheaper than the same sized ps.
Any body had any experience with the no collar snare side heads Don't care much for the collar ones as they draw down too much when cranked Prefer ludwig ss, but hard to find. My remo masteredge kit arrived factory equipped with them in 1998, i think that might've been the year they were introduced
Renaissance batters and resos all around I've always been a coated ambassador kinda person, but loved the fit and tuning of the heavy ludwig wm's with the shallower collar The current permatone heads supplied with gretsch usa kits are remo ambassadors.but i'm not sure what gretsch has remo do that is specific to their specs I find that remo heads tune a little lower than evans heads overall

This is important since so many contemporary music styles tend for lowest possible tuning.
I picked up a cheap remo bravo set last year (with the same great shells) to leave at a practice house I added wood hoops and swapped out the heavy tall hoops with cannon 1.6. The remo classic fit were the perfect answer As others have said, the difference is in the flesh hoop, it's thinner, leaving the outside diameter the same as a normal head,.
These remo classic fit heads are amazing I took my ludwig and ludwig 6.5x14 snare to the remo booth and had jeff davenport to his magic on my snare The aquarians seem to be under greater tension in the hoops to start with than their remo equivalent, so just above wrinkle results in a higher tuning
